This secret garden at Manitou Galleries was magical on this beautiful fall afternoon in October. Filled with bronze sculptures of animals so delightful in their lure I could almost hear them chatting. Ravens, bears, lions. A hippo barely above ground, a bird on his back, hitching a “free ride.” The hare with his long ears. Three baby elephants playing in the water. Truly enchanting. Peaceful. Quiet except for a single crow cawing overhead. Jim Eppler was my favorite. His wolves. The texture. The movement. The life. The ravens. Then there were the bunnies. New arrivals. I loved those too. If you find yourself in Santa Fe wandering on Canyon Road make sure to stop by this gallery and take a look. You’ll be glad you did.
